In today’s blog, we will get to know about the pitch of Mr.Yogesh Shinde and Ms. Ashwini Shinde in Shark Tank India who are the founders of Bamboo India, Pune.

They started their pitch by saying that the first plastic toothbrush was produced in 1938. Plastic being non-compostable is affecting our environment since 1938. So to give a solution to this, they prepared Bamboo Toothbrush. It is a natural, 100% Bamboo made toothbrush which is easily compostable.

Till today, they have manufactured more than 40 lakhs of Bamboo toothbrushes. They have successfully delivered this to 18+ countries and India’s 2050+ pin codes. Their products are available on their own website bambooindia.com, Amazon, Flipkart, and more than 200 retailers in India.

They say that they are able to manufacture 50000 bamboo brushes a day. They are the first brand to launch bamboo toothbrushes in India. Not only brushes, but they also sell bamboo necklaces, goggles, and many other products

  • 80 lakh against 4% Equity,
  • Company Valuation – 20 Crores.

Pricing of the Product –

2015 – Rs.180 per brush. But through their efforts of creating the supply chain and reducing overheads, they reduced their prices of 1 brush to Rs. 45

Cost Breakdown –

  • Selling price – Rs. 45
  • Cost price – Rs. 15
  • Margin – Rs. 30

Sales –

  • FY 2020-21:- 2.8 Cr
  • FY 2021- Till date 2.2 Cr
  • Aim to touch 4cr this financial year.
